You definitely have more of a rock bent. I'll overlook your dislike for Eye of the Tiger. Word Up is a great song. Great one.

After thinking on it for the better part of the day I managed to come up with ten 80's songs I really enjoy. I didn't grow up with music from that decade (born in 1986 and my parents mostly listened to 60's and 70's classic rock) or seek it put specifically so this may be an odd list to someone who did.

In no particular order:
Jessie's Girl
Don't Stop Believin'
Sister Christian
Take on Me
Come on Eileen
You Shook Me All Night Long
Africa
That's All
Down Under
Summer of '69

Okay, let's give this a shot. Mine are not in a top 10 order, but it's 10. Tainted Love by Soft Cell, Borderline by Madonna, Super Freak by Rick James, Don't Stop Believin' by Journey, Call Me by Blondie, Back in Black by AC/DC, Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N Roses, Word Up by Cameo, Hurts So Good by John Cougar Mellencamp, Livin' On a Prayer by Bon Jovi. I have to say that my list was generated more by songs that I loved, or danced to or listened to a lot in the 80's and would still stop and listen to today. No info on videos, but I am going to check them out and see what I think. Wait, did I leave Cyndi Lauper off? Geez. Maybe her instead of Journey?

So, I had a couple of agreements with you. But I never could stomach Eye of the Tiger and still can't. And when I hear 38 Special I think of Hold on Loosely first. Could see Jesse's Girl as a Top 10. It definitely holds up.

Fun! I hope others pitch in their thoughts.
