I will try to constrain myself to just ONE scene: After Wallace is knighted he gets confronted and rushed by several people arguing over their claims to the throne. Amidst the arguing, Wallace walks out and the nobles ask where he's going. Wallace turns around and says, "There's a difference between us. You think the people of this country exist to provide you with position. I think your position exists to provide those people with freedom. And I go to make sure that they have it" William Wallace- cutting through the crap with a claymore.

Resolve and conviction I believe is one of the major themes of the movie. You see this especially in the contrast between Wallace and the Bruce. Thx Larry.

When being pressured by his father's friends to join the "cause"

William Wallace: I came home to raise crops, and God willing, a family. If I can live in peace, I will.

Really bucking the trend and the pressure.
